The main title sequence for Babel opens on black with the sound of foot steps and the wind blowing across what we learn is a barren desert. The challenge was to introduce the 5 opening title cards in a unique way, and as quickly as possible, to get to the first frame of live action. The end titles close with a dedication from the director, Alejandro González Iñárritu, to his children, followed by simple elegant fades set to the beautiful music of Gustavo Santaolalla.
