Hide and Seek
Main Title Sequence
20th Century Fox
With Hide and Seek, the story takes a turn for evil when we learn that "Charlie" is actually the manifestation of Robert De Niro's childhood demons, resurfacing. The use of the crayon typography in the titles was an attempt to misdirect the viewer, as well as show the evolution, or de-evolution of De Niro's character, back to a childhood state. The crayon typography was also used in ghostly, shadowed form, to suggest that the "evil" we would come to know might not be human.
